The Issues

We have enough political grandstanders in Congress. Claire Wirth will always use the Constitution as her guiding light.

Illegal Immigration

  • Thomas Massie – Voted “No” on funding President Trump’s Border Wall. Massie also jumped across the aisle to support the Democrat-led measure to terminate Trump’s emergency declaration at the border, not once, not twice, but three times:
    • February 26, 2019 – Voted "Yes" with 232 Democrats against President Trump (H.J.Res 46) Overturning emergency declaration
    • March 26, 2019 – Voted "Yes" with 234 Democrats against President Trump (H.J.Res 46) Overriding President Trumps Veto
    • September 27, 2019 – Voted "Yes" with 224 Democrats against President Trump (S.J.Res 54) Overturning President Trump's emergency declaration
  • Thomas Massie - Voted "No" against President Trump and the GOP on a Republican 'compromise' immigration bill. (H.R. 6136)
  • Claire Wirth – Supports strong borders and legal immigration. President Trump’s border wall was $5.7 Billion which pales in comparison to the annual cost of illegal immigration at $132 Billion per year. Estimates are as high as $200 Billion per year by 2030.* We are seeing more than 210,000 illegal immigrants being apprehended PER MONTH with total numbers of crossings unknown. Without strong borders - we don't have a country.

Term Limits

  • Thomas Massie – Refers to his Congressional Pin as “Precious” in an attempt to illustrate the addictive power of holding office giving lip service to the importance of term limits. His blatant hypocrisy is on full display supporting a 3 term maximum for the House of Representatives and having co-sponsored a measure (H.J.Res.12) limiting terms for the House of Representatives to 3 terms. Thomas Massie was just sworn in for his Sixth Term.

  • Claire Wirth – Believes public service was never meant to be a career, which is in line with our Founding Father’s intent. Claire Wirth will not serve more than 3 terms in Congress by choice. Claire Wirth supports legislation of 2 terms for Senate (12 year maximum) and 3 terms for Congress (6 year maximum).

Second Amendment

  • Claire Wirth – Daughter of two Navy Corpsmen, Claire grew up in a household that understands the continued generational sacrifices required to maintain our liberties. The Second Amendment is a cornerstone of our Republic and Claire will deny any incremental gains attempted by the Democrats to erode our Bill of Rights. She is also a proud lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
  • In this current Congress, Rep. Massie has also failed to sign on as a co-sponsor to H.R. 95, the Hearing Protection Act. This bill would de-list suppressors/silencers from the 1934 National Firearms Act., removing the requirement to undergo Federal taxation, registration, and licensing in order to own these accessories. Claire Wirth strongly supports this legislation currently sponsored by 37 strong 2A Republicans.

 USMCA
Trade Agreement

  • Thomas Massie – Voted "No" against President Trump's signature legislation to keep jobs and companies in the United States named USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement) trade agreement. The bill passed 385-41 with Massie joining 38 Democrats in opposition. (H.R.5430)
  • Claire Wirth – Supports reciprocal and fair trade. With various countries placing undue tariffs on the United States, it is appropriate to balance the tariff burden as to not place our country at an economic disadvantage. President Trump's signature legislation is the reason Kentucky is now seeing over 5,000 jobs being created in a state-of-the-art facility being constructed by Ford to build the new electric F-150 trucks.  Source Link Here

ISRAEL

  • Thomas Massie – the only Republican to vote "No" to approving funding for Israel's defensive Iron Dome along with 9 extremist Democrats. Read more at the DailyCaller.com September 23, 2021 (House Vote 275) passing 420-9.

  • Thomas Massie – the only Republican to vote "No" to Opposing Efforts to Delegitimize the State of Israel and The Global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions Movement Targeting Israel. It won broad bipartisan support however received pushback from some high-profile progressives, 16 House Democrats and one House Republican. Representatives Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were among the 16 Democrats who voted against the resolution with Omar likening the boycott of the Jewish state to boycotts of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. July 23, 2019 (H.Res 246) passing 398-17.
  • Thomas Massie – Voted "No" with 7 House Republicans on a bill that would appropriate supplemental funds to Department of Defense (DOD) to assist the government of Israel with procurement of the Iron Dome defense system to counter short-range rocket threats. August 1, 2014 (H.J.Res 76) passing 395-8.
  • Thomas Massie – the ONLY Member of Congress which Voted "No" to Declaring Israel as a Major Strategic Partner to the United States. March 5, 2014 (H.R. 938) passing 410-1.
  • Claire Wirth – is a Christian first and believes we must protect Israel, our strongest ally. Investment in Israel through foreign aid is an investment in the United States national security and anti-terrorism efforts. By not supporting Israel we risk destabilizing the region, in turn putting millions at risk and further increasing the potential of United States involvement.
  • Psalm 115:12: The LORD hath been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron.
  • Genesis 12:3: I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

Healthcare / Obamacare

  • Thomas Massie - Voted "No" in 2019 to lower prescription drug costs and verse changes in the Affordable Care Act. Once again voting against President Trump's effort to rollback Obamacare and the sharply increased financial burden placed on consumers.
  • Thomas Massie – Voted “No” in 2017 along with Democrats on President Trump’s replacement of Obamacare - despite rampant increases in premiums, deductibles, and reduced coverage. The average cost in 2019 for a family of four not eligible for subsidy was more than $25,000 per year. *Source: https://www.healthaffairs.org
  • Thomas Massie – Voted “No” in 2013 with Democrats (one of only four House Republicans) on President Trump’s “Keep Your Health Plan” bill to counteract Obamacare regulations.
  • Claire Wirth – Supports increased access and competition in healthcare, leading to more affordable healthcare through free-market economics. Claire believes the Obamacare forced mandates are not only an undue burden on hardworking Americans but also un-American and unconstitutional. Rather than disrupt 1/5 of our economy to reshape healthcare in a socialist image, the logical solution would have been a standalone bill to protect Americans with pre-existing conditions.

 Opioid Crisis

  • Thomas Massie – Voted "No" on broad legislation to address the opioid crisis against President Trump and the GOP. The bill passed overwhelmingly by 396 to 14. (H.R.6)

  • Thomas Massie - Voted "No" allowing prohibition on certain synthetic drugs against President Trump and the GOP. (H.R.2851)
  • Claire Wirth – Understands this issue as she has personally helped people who are afflicted, both family and strangers. Claire is a foster mother who has held the children that are the direct result of an unaddressed opioid crisis. The opioid epidemic affects every family across America, killing over 87,000 Americans in 2020 and destroying countless families of those who struggle with addiction.
